Since they were announced at CES 2024, audio enthusiasts have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Kanto Audio ORA4 and Kanto Audio REN speakers. Now, we can confirm that these speakers from the Canadian brand are coming to Canada in mid-November, just in time for the holiday season, through Canadian distributor Gemsen.
The ORA 4 builds on the success of the ORA desktop speakers, which we reviewed last year. They push bass extension to deeper levels, says Kanto, while “maintaining the same, great, reference-quality sound.”

Available in matte black and matte white finishes and sold in pairs for $500, the Kanto Audio ORA4 features Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, analogue line-in, and a USB-C input that supports audio up to 24-bit/96kHz. The USB Type-C port allows you to connect a host of audio sources, including the latest iPhone and Android devices, digital audio players, PC, Mac, and more.
As a powerful desktop speaker, these speakers are ideal for listening to music, gaming, or for use as a home or remote recording studio monitor. They feature separate Class D amplifiers for the woofers/tweeters, delivering a dynamic audio presentation with a smooth, accurate frequency response, says the company.

The Kanto Audio ORA4 also includes a subwoofer output, with a built-in automatic crossover at 80 Hz that high-passes the speakers and low-passes the sub-out, enabling seamless integration with a powered subwoofer, like the Kanto Audio SUB8.
Each ORA4 speaker employs separate amplifiers for both woofers and tweeters, ensuring an accurate frequency response during playback. Power output per tweeter is 12W, and per woofer 23W, for a combined bi-amplified power output of 70W.
Use the threaded inserts located at the rear and bottom of each speaker to secure ORA4 to any compatible speaker mount or bracket so you can free up space by mounting them on the wall if desired.
Meanwhile, As Kanto Audio’s first active speaker with HDMI ARC, the REN is a high-performance 200W active speaker that also includes Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, optical inputs, analogue line-in, and a dedicated sub-out.

Connect everything from your smartphone to a PC or Mac, digital audio player, or even traditional analogue audio sources like record players. These come in pairs as well, in Matte Grey, Matte Orange, Matte Blue, or Matte White, for $700/pr.
