At CES 2022 two years ago, LG introduced its StanbyME wireless mobile display, designed to be rolled around the home to be used for a variety of functions. It’s battery operated and can swivel to view in both landscape and portrait mode. Today, LG has revealed that the StanbyME Go portable LED screen, a smaller version, is now officially in Canada.
The smaller sister StanbyME Go is a TV housed in a suitcase design. It, too, has a built-in battery and speakers, making it ideal for travel and using around the house. It’s $1,600, so the convenience doesn’t come cheap. But consider being able to bring a TV back and forth to the cottage, for example, so you don’t have to leave an expensive one there, or being able to use it in rooms like the kitchen or basement only when needed. It could work for things like business presentations as well.
The screen measures 27 inches in size and it’s an LED touchscreen attached to a stand within a sleek case. It can be tilted, rotated, raised, and lowered while in landscape and portrait orientations and table mode. The built-in 20-watt speaker adapts to the screen’s orientation, providing optimal surround sound, and supports Dolby Vision video technology and Dolby Atmos stereo sound.
The case has interior compartments to hold accessories and a built-in battery. With up to three hours of viewing time between charges, StanbyME Go can be easily carried using the built-in handle.
Equipped with LG’s webOS software, the StanbyME Go supports AirPlay 3 and is screen mirroring compatible with iOS and Android devices. It also supports pairing via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Enjoy hands-free control with voice recognition functionality for easily changing channels and searching for content.
