You don’t hear much about wired headphones nowadays, since the industry has almost entirely gone wireless. But there’s still value in a wired experience, whether it’s a preference or even as a back-up for those days and times when your wireless headphones are dead and you have nowhere to recharge. The Meze Audio Alba are a new option in this space.
The Romanian brand has introduced these new in-ears, made of a combination of zinc alloy and anodized aluminum parts. They offer noise isolation and USB-C connectivity. They come with a 3.5mm cord with a gold-plated connector for connecting to devices that still have a port, or by using an adapter.
Hifi enthusiasts will love that the included USB-C adapter features a built-in DAC to boost sound quality and ensure a more immersive audio experience, says Meze Audio.
“It was a combination of factors that brought Alba into existence,” says Vlad Toca, Product Manager at Meze Audio. “Coming from a musical background, having maintained direct contact with our customers daily, and being an audiophile myself for the better part of a decade, really helped me understand the expectations for a complete and immersive listening experience.
“Designed for those who dance to their own beat,” he continues, “for the curious and the free-spirited, Alba comprises a perfectly accessible and qualitative introduction into the world of elevated audio enjoyment.”
With a 10.8mm dynamic driver and a 15-25kHz frequency range, the in-ears have a sound pressure level (SPL) of 109dB. Specially designed silicone ear tips, meanwhile, come in four sizes (S, M, L, XL) to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.
The Meze Audio Alba earphones will be available starting today for US$159.
