Control and automation company RTI has announced a new Sonos integration that delivers enhanced search capabilities, transforming how you can discover and enjoy music through RTI control systems. Built with Sonos’ updated search API, the integration is verified by the Works with Sonos program, ensuring seamless compatibility for installers and end customers.
“The native search functionality, playlist support, home theatre control, and other new features further elevate the Sonos experience within the RTI control environment,” says RTI Product Director Neal Ellsworth. “This enables integrators to build music systems fully tailored to their clients’ needs, while managed from the same intuitive interface from which they control their lighting, shades, climate, security, and other smart home features.”
The updated RTI driver introduces native search functionality for Sonos S2 devices, enabling you to quickly find albums, songs, and stations directly from an RTI touchscreen or mobile app. This, says RTI, simplifies navigation and accelerates access to preferred content from compatible music service partners.
You can also seamlessly view and launch recently played content across supported services. Enhanced playlist support includes viewing and starting playlists directly from RTI interfaces.

The RTI driver features modernized OAuth authentication for secure, streamlined user authentication with third-party music services, improving compatibility and long-term platform support for all Sonos devices. Home theatre control includes full support for Sonos features, all accessible via events, variables, and custom commands. This includes swapping the TV audio from a compatible Sonos soundbar to Sonos Ace, Night Sound which reduces the intensity of loud effects and increases the level of quieter effects for late-night viewing, and Speech Enhancement, which provides four levels of control that lets you adjust dialogue clarity to match your needs.
Within the RTI control system, Sonos music can be synchronized with lights, shading and more to deliver a more cohesive, immersive experience. These scenes can be applied across all interfaces of an RTI system, extending the ability to stream Sonos music throughout the entire home.
The enhanced RTI driver is available now for download through the RTI Integration Designer software.
RTI will be exhibiting at the AVPro booth #1501 at CEDIA Expo 2025, which takes place in Denver September 4-6, 2025.
