Samsung is upping its stake in the fashion game with a pair of announcements from its Unpacked event today, including a new Bespoke edition of the Galaxy Z Flip3 foldable smartphone and the Galaxy Watch4 smartwatch, and a collaboration with lifestyle brand Maison Kitsuné on two new special-edition wearables: the Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition and the Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 Bespoke Edition comes in up to 49 new customizable colour combinations, which can be custom ordered so each owner has a unique style that fits their personality. Colour options include a black or silver frame with blue, yellow, pink, white, or black front and back colours. Samsung says it tested thousands of colours to find the hues that best complement one another.
There’s also the new Galaxy Watch4 Bespoke Studio, where you can customize the Galaxy Watch4 series device by mixing and watching from a variety of colours, sizes, and strap styles. There are more than 1,000 potential combinations from which to choose. A new software update for the Watch 4 Series will allow for further customization via new watch face styles and a new “knock, knock” wrist motion that activates favourite or most-used apps and features.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 Bespoke Edition and Galaxy Watch4 Bespoke Studio are available in Canada starting October 20, 2021. The Bespoke Edition phone will be available for the same regular price of $1,400 for the 256GB version, while the Watch4 Bluetooth and Classic models start at $330. Custom designs are available exclusively through Samsung.ca. Once the order is placed, devices are tailor-made and arrive in special edition packaging.
Meanwhile, Samsung is also making its Watch4 as well as Galaxy Buds2 true wireless earbuds more fashionable via a partnership with independent Paris-meets-Tokyo fashion house Maison Kitsuné using their signature Fox logo and playful style.
The special-edition Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition and the Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition both incorporate Maison Kitsuné’s signature aesthetic, from the watch straps and faces to the buds themselves as well as their case. A refined new hue, Moonrock Beige, was also created specifically for this collaboration.
The Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition has Moonrock Beige straps punctuated by a charming Fox-shaped hole and delicate engravings. It comes with an additional custom Stardust Gray strap with the Maison Kitsuné lettering so you can alternate looks.
Also in Moonrock Beige, the Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition are housed in a sleek Stardust Gray leather case emblazoned with a reimagined Maison Kitsuné Fox Head logo. The right earbud features the Fox’s head, while the left earbud showcases its tail, meant to represent an uninterrupted journey through the Samsung Galaxy, says the company.
Complementing the launch, a playlist has also been curated by the brand’s music label Kitsuné Musique especially for the partnership. You can also install an exclusive Maison Kitsuné phone theme by tagging an NFC card that comes in the box of the Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition or Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition case.
The Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition and the Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition will be available on Samsung.ca starting October 20, 2021 with a limited number of products available in Canada. Galaxy Watch4 Maison Kitsuné Edition is available as a 40mm Bluetooth model at the regular price of $530 with the additional Stardust Gray strap in the box. The Galaxy Buds2 Maison Kitsuné Edition are also available in Moonrock Beige for the regular price of $350.
