Samsung Now Supports Canadian French in Galaxy AI

Samsung is now including Canadian French in its list of languages supported by Galaxy AI.

The language will be available across all Galaxy AI translation features, including Live Translate, Interpreter, and Browsing Assist. Samsung says the new Canadian French language Live Translation feature is a first of its kind amongst mobile manufacturers.

With Live Translate, you can enjoy two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls, which can be used for doing things like booking reservations or talking with clients or colleagues who speak a different language. For in person conversations, Interpreter can translate live conversations through a split-screen view. Using the feature, people standing opposite each other can read a text translation of what the other person is saying. The Chat Assist feature can help perfect conversational tones by generating context-aware suggestions so communications sound as they were intended.

Language-related AI features also work with Note Assist, which can create AI-generated summaries, pre-formatted templates, and cover pages. Transcript Assist, meanwhile, uses AI and Speech-to-Text technology to transcribe, summarize, and translate voice recordings. Finally, there’s Browsing Assist, which keeps you up to date with what’s happening in the world through concise summaries of news articles or web pages.

In addition to the 13 languages already available, Samsung is also adding Australian English, Cantonese, Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian. Beginning April 24, the newly supported Galaxy AI languages and dialects will each be available for download as a language pack from the Settings app.

Galaxy AI is available in the Galaxy S23 Series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Z Flip5, as well as the new Galaxy S24 line. Some Galaxy AI features are also now available on the Galaxy Tab S9 Series and the Galaxy Buds.
