The top trending videos run the gamut, from a Rihanna performance to Mr. Beast’s latest antics, Corey Tonge and Adele. Some of the top videos in Canada include medicine being delivered by drones to Rwanda, tears shed at Putri Ariani’s America’s Got Talent audition, and real experiences at the Conjuring House.
Here’s an outline of the top YouTube videos in various categories for 2023.
Top Trending Videos
The number-one trending video on YouTube this year in Mr. Beast’s $1 vs $1,00,000,000 Yacht! video whereby the social media personality and philanthropist purchased a yacht for $1 and compares it to other yachts of various pricing (all out of the realm of purchase possibility for most of you reading this right now!) The video, which features some celebrity appearances as well, broke his own personal record by racking up 264 million views. Mr. Beast’s YouTube channel has 215 million subscribers, which means the video was viewed by more people than subscribe to him, or by several subscribers more than once. It also has 6.2 million likes.
Coming in second (though it was number-one in Canada specifically) was Rihanna’s full Apple Music Super Bowl LV11 halftime show. The artist delivered some of her greatest hits and shocked viewers by revealing that she was pregnant. In less than a year, the 13-and-a-half-minute video has already racked up 197 million views. To put this in perspective, that’s 59 times the number of subscribers to the NFL YouTube channel itself. Everyone who missed the performance was curious to see what all the fuss was about, and those who did watch from home might have wanted to take a second look.
Third on the list was Amazing Invention – This Drone Will Change Everything by Mark Rober. With 28 million views, the engineer and social media personality discusses robotics, drones, and deliveries of the future while visiting Rwanda to see how the technology could potentially be life changing. Rober has managed to attract a young audience of fans by making STEM topics fun and exciting. Rober himself has 28.1 million views which suggests his viewers are loyal and every single one will check out the most interesting videos he posts, like this one.
