Through a new over-the-air update, Victrola is adding Bluetooth and Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) streaming to several turntable models in its line, including the Stream Carbon, Onyx, and Pearl models.
The major software update includes the Victrola Stream Works with Sonos turntables, which were previously designed exclusively for seamless integration with the lates Sonos ecosystem. Rolling out automatically to all Victrola Stream Carbon, Onyx, and Pearl turntables, and previously to Stream Sapphire turntables, this over-the-air upgrade introduces three significant new connectivity options.
There’s Vinylstream Wi-Fi (UPnP) which allows you to stream vinyl wirelessly to UPnP-enabled audio devices, including speakers, AV receivers, HiFi streamers, smart TVs, and other Wi-Fi products from brands like KEF, JBL, Sony, Samsung, WiiM, Denon, Marantz, and more.

With Bluetooth output, you can stream directly to Bluetooth speakers and headphones; while Roon Ready Relay affords the option to stream vinyl in up to 24-bit/48kHz lossless FLAC to any Roon endpoint.
“This update is a major step forward in our mission to blend the warmth of vinyl with the convenience of modern wireless audio,” says CEO Victrola Scott Hagen. “The Victrola Stream turntables have been the best option for Sonos users, and now we’re extending that same effortless streaming experience to even more audio ecosystems. Vinyl lovers can now enjoy premium wireless flexibility without compromise.”
This automatic software update will be deployed to all existing and future Victrola Stream Carbon, Onyx, Pearl, and Sapphire turntables, requiring no manual installation. Existing users will see the update applied automatically. In the app where you would typically select a default Sonos speaker, you will now find toggles for additional options, including Bluetooth. The app also provides simple instructions for switching between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth using the knob.
