If you heard about the OnePlus Watch 3, which was announced earlier this month and I recently reviewed as well, you’ll have to wait a bit longer than anticipated. Due to a minor aesthetic error, the official launch has been pushed back from today to April 2025.
OnePlus says that while open sales were initially planned for Tuesday, February 25, 2025, this has been postponed until April 2025. You can, however, continue to pre-order the watch if you’re excited to get your hands on one.
The reason? The company realized a minor typographical error below the watch face, which is being addressed with a new batch. OnePlus did not elaborate on the specifics, but it was easy to find: on the underside of the watch, instead of reading “Made in China,” it reads “Meda in China” with the “e” and “a” in the word “made” reversed. It happens! (Sidenote: It reminds me of my days working for a print magazine when an issue was published with the word “AUDIO” in large, all-caps on the cover, which no one realized until months later actually read “ADUIO.”)

Nonetheless, those who pre-ordered the device as well as new buyers once available can be rest assured that they are getting the new version with the proper spelling of the word. The issue was cosmetic alone and has nothing to do with the functionality of the watch itself.
If you happen to somehow receive the device with the error, however, you can return it without question for a refund or replacement.
“OnePlus thanks its community for their understanding and excitement for the product,” the company says in a prepared announcement, “and will update as soon as possible regarding the revised open-sales date.”

For now, pre-orders will continue to run through to April 2025 and you can use the code TIME1010 for an additional $50 off, bringing the price down to $400 in Canada, until supplies last.
Having used the watch for the last several weeks, I can attest to the fact that there are no operational issues with the original version. It’s arguably one of the best Android smartwatches available, or will be once it is indeed meda (sorry, made) officially available in a few months.
