A day after Sonance announced that it would be going direct to residential dealers in Canada starting January 1, 2023, the company has confirmed the appointment of Brad Middleton as National Sales Manager for Canada.
Based in Toronto, Middleton has 20 years of experience in the industry. He will be working to build a Canadian sales team of representatives for the Sonance, iPORT, and James Loudspeakers brands in provinces across Canada.
“I am excited and eager to take on the opportunity of nurturing this new relationship between the Sonance family and the Canadian market,” says Middleton. “This market has its own unique needs that I think we can now be in a great position to deliver upon. I am looking forward to building and strengthening our partnerships in Canada.”
Sonance says Middleton’s expertise in the industry and specifically within the Canadian market will make for a strong transition for the brands as the company begins its direct relationship. International sales leadership, meanwhile, will continue to be supported by the Sonance international sales team, which includes Kent Sheldon, Vice President of International Sales and Jay Lazzaro, Sales Director for The Americas.
Sonance says this transition “will establish meaningful relationships with their dealers in the Canadian market, providing direct support along with dealer resources like technical support, design services, and purchasing tools.”
Sonance, iPORT, and James Loudspeakers products were previously handled for the residential market in Canada by BC-based Trends Electronics. Trends will continue to supply products through to the end of 2022. Canadian partner SC Media will continue to serve the commercial market in Canada.
