What Video Games Were Canadians Playing in 2025?

Canadians love gaming, and despite the stereotypes, gamers come in all shapes and sizes, of all ages, from kids to teens and adults, male and female. But the question is, what are Canadians playing? The Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) has released the official year-end rankings for the top-selling video games, which helps inform what Canadians were likely playing.

What’s most notable about this list, which includes the expected entries like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto, it also highlights how big Canada’s involvement is in the industry, with four of the top six best-selling games having ties to Canada.

The gaming industry, says ESAC, continues to be a major driver for the country, contributing over $5.5 billion to Canada’s GDP annually. Which games came out on top? The list, from number-one to 20, is as follows:
