DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Gimbal Camera

DJI Osmo Pocket 4

Last year, I could not stop raving about the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 gimbal camera. This year, I reviewed the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 and I’m blown away by how much it improved on the experience. Not only will you get crisper, clearer photos and videos, live tracking is flawless, video transfer is blazingly fast, and it’s just such an essential part of my content creation arsenal.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4

I get asked about this camera at almost every event where I’m using it. If you know someone who creates content, this is a fantastic gift for them. Read my review.

Moft Magsafe Wallet Phone Stand

Moft MagSafe wallet stand

I have had this stand on the back of my phone for the last year, and I can’t imagine holding the phone without it. I use it as a grip while I hold my phone and even use it handheld with one or two hands. It’s also a kickstand I use when watching videos on a plane, using my phone as a calculator while doing my monthly bookkeeping, or as I scroll while having breakfast on weekend mornings. The slot inside is tight and will only fit a single card, but it’s good for a driver’s license if I’m headed somewhere without a wallet or a hotel room key. You could even slot a couple $20 bills in there as emergency cash. While it has started to fray about around the edges now, a year into 24/7 wear and travel, I still never take it off my phone.

Buy the Moft Magsafe Wallet Phone Stand for $33.99.

Funny Belly Fanny Pack

belly fanny pack

Yes, you will have to pay about $30 when all is said and done and you add import fees to this purchase if you need to get it to Canada. But that’s still not a bad price for a fanny pack. You should order sooner rather than later if you want to make absolute sure that it arrives in time. If you have seen some of the viral videos with this fanny pack and know a dad who would get a kick out of making his own, go for it. The adjustable fanny pack has the image of a fake belly on the front, complete with oversized belly button and an abundance of hair. The idea is that when they wear it, it looks like their belly is hanging out from their shirt. It’s a total gag gift and ones that grandpa or your prankster dad will love showing off to his buddies. It’s a conversation starter and something that will instantly light the mood at the next family barbecue.

The Fitbit Edge is a good option for a dad who doesn’t want a smartwatch but still wants to be able to see the time and notifications on his wrist, and be able to start a workout from the screen. Clicks Communicator

Clicks Communicator

If dad is a Boomer, Gen Xer, or “elder” Millennial, he probably used a BlackBerry back in the day. If so, consider the Clicks Communicator. Even if dad already has a phone he uses for work, maybe even one provided by his company, he can use this as a secondary device. It combines a small touchscreen with a full QWERTY keyboard. It’s a nice reminder of what a phone is actually supposed to be for, but as a full Android 17 device, you can still download all your favourite apps, including streaming, games, social media, and more. But the design of the phone encourages you to focus on purposeful use, not doomscrolling.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8

Samsung Galaxy users are a devoted bunch, never wanting to divert from their favourite phone type, and now ecosystem. If dad falls into this camp, upgrade him from a traditional bar phone to a foldable with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, which employs a new passport-sized form factor that makes it even more pocketable, yet still expands to tablet-sized. He’ll love using the cover display for quick glances at notifications or the Now Brief for daily summaries.

Being able to open the phone for things like video calls, streaming video, gaming, web surfing, and more is a big bonus. Plus, you can orient it in different ways so it becomes a stand for snapping photos or watching videos on a plane, video chatting, even using cool modes like interpreter. Casetify Ripple iPhone 18 Pro Case

Casetify iPhone 18 case

I have this case on my iPhone 17 Pro right now (it’s the same size as the iPhone 18 Pro), and I love it. There’s extra protection on the corners to help withstand the impact of bumps or falls. It’s nicely fitted and is easy to put on and take off. And it’s MagSage compatible so my wallet stand fits nicely on the back. The button covers are responsive, too, versus stiff like you might find with other cases. Get dad this lovely Dusty Blue finish or go with the classic Black.

Ooni Koda 2 Pro Outdoor Pizza Oven

Ooni Koda 1 Pro pizza oven

I had the pleasure of testing this pizza oven last summer, and we enjoyed tons of delicious homemade pies that were world’s better than take-out. The best part? Everyone can make their own customized pie. The Ooni Koda 2 Pro is big with a capital “B,” able to make pies up to 18 inches in size. The patent-pending G2 Gas Technology includes a tapered flame gas burner system that delivers improved heat distribution to eliminate hot and cold spots and heat the stone faster. The temperature range is 320°F up to a blazing 950°F that can yield a fully cooked pizza in 90 seconds; and dad can use it to make other things, too (check out the companion app for lots of creative ideas using a compatible cast iron pan or skillet, like the S’mores Pizza dessert I made!) Dad can give the barbecue or smoker a break and switch to pizza for a while, donning his white apron and practicing his dough stretching skills in the kitchen. Along with the app, its high-tech features include a Bluetooth-enabled digital thermometer hub, front-mounted display that shows real-time temperature, and pyrolytic cleaning so after-cook clean-up is a breeze. Rokid AI Smart Glasses

Rokid smart glasses pressing the button

I have spent months with the Rokid AI smart glasses and adore them. Any time I attend work events now, I wear these (I got a prescription pair, courtesy of Ming’s Optical) and record B-roll footage as I walk around. My hands are completely free: I just press and hold the side button to record and press again to stop. But they’re useful for so much more, including on-screen and audio turn-by-turn directions, real-time translations, subtitles, music playback, and AI assistant via ChatGPT and/or Gemini. I have used them at home, at local events, and while navigating Berlin for IFA 2026 and they have become one of my favourite gadgets this year. Read my review.
