New features for the Apple Watch Ultra 3 include Emergency SOS via satellite, an extra-large display, longer 42-hour battery life, and new health insights. You can text emergency services, message friends and family, and share your location, all while off the grid. With the largest screen in an Apple Watch to date, it’s a 1Hz always-on wide-angle LTPO OLED display that boasts up to 42 hours of battery life per charge, which you can extend to up to 72 hours using Low Power Mode. With the option for 5G cellular connectivity as well (with a plan), it offers accurate GPS and notifications for signs of chronic high blood pressure (hypertension) using data from the optical heart sensor to analyze how your blood vessels respond to the beats of the heart. FDA clearance for notifications is pending; there’s no word if this feature will be available in Canada. There’s also sleep score, and the integration of Workout Buddy for personalized fitness motivation provided by Apple Intelligence. The watch is also thinner with more active screen area. With watchOS 26, you can the new Liquid Glass screen, Smart Stack hints, and a new one-handed wrist flick gesture to discuss notifications.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 is available in natural or black titanium and starts at $1,099 with a three-month trial to Apple Fitness+ and Apple Music.
