Kinsey Fabrizio, Gary Shapiro, CTA

CTA Officially Appoints New President & CEO

While Kinsey Fabrizio was introduced as President of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) during a virtual pre-CES briefing prior to this year’s show, the title change and promotion have been made official. The CTA Executive Board has confirmed that effective May 1, 2026, Fabrizio will become President and CEO of CTA while long-time CEO Gary Shapiro will continue to serve as Executive Chair.

This transition reflects the strength, continuity, and long-term vision of CTA and CES, says the company. Fabrizio has been integral to the evolution of CES since joining the company in 2008, leading strategy and operations across CES, CTA, and all business units. Her leadership has helped modernize CTA’s membership, expand CES offerings, advance emerging technology categories, and elevate CTA’s role in technology policy, including her testimony before Congress on artificial intelligence.

“I’m honoured to take on this role and deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from and work alongside Gary for nearly two decades,” comments Fabrizio. “I look forward to leading CTA into its next era while continuing to champion our members, CES, and the power of innovation.”

Shapiro has led CTA for more than 35 years, guiding the association and CES through its growth and transformation. Under his leadership, CTA became an independent organization, expanded its global reach, transformed CES into the massive technology event that it has become, and championed innovation through landmark policy efforts, global advocacy, and industry leadership. As Executive Chair, he will continue to lead the CTA Executive Board and serve as a spokesperson and advocate for CTA, CES, and the technology industry.

“We are excited for what’s ahead,” the CTA adds in its statement, “and grateful for your continued engagement as CES and CTA move confidently into the future.”
