Meze Audio 105 AER

Meze Audio Intros 105 AER Open-Back Headphones

Meze Audio has introduced its new 105 AER over-ear and open-back headphones. The name is inspired by the concept of “letting the air in,” affording a “spacious, warm, and immersive listening experience,” says the company.

Crafted using premium materials including cast zinc alloy, stamped manganese spring steel, and PU leather in the headband design, the headphones also include velour ear coverings. The self-adjusting headband spreads the headband’s weight to deliver an even pressure while the soft velour cushions surrounding the ears create a favourable seal. As the lightest open-back model to date from Meze Audio at just 336 grams, they are also comfortable to wear for long listening sessions.

“105 AER carries a feeling of Art Deco opulence, almost like a piece of jewellery masked in a mechanical structure,” comments Paul Stet, Meze Audio’s Senior Product Designer. “Certain curves and surfaces are not obvious at first glance; there’s an ambiguity to the three-dimensional shape inviting you to discover it over time.”

Also featuring a newly refined voicing within the headset’s 50mm dynamic driver membranes, 105 AER is responsive and well-suited to all music types, says Meze. With a slight emphasis on bass and sub-bass capabilities, they “enhance the overall sense of immersion,” adding depth to your music.

Meze Audio has adopted a modular design philosophy to the range, meaning the 105 AER can be taken apart and serviced endlessly, while individual parts and components can be replaced and repaired.

The Meze Audio 105 AER headphones will be available for purchase in early December for US$399.
