Ring’s new generation Battery Video Doorbell is coming to Canada next month, affording improvements over the second-gen model and a new push-pin DIY installation design.
The latest edition of the popular video doorbell product offers a 150° by 150° field-of-view, providing 66% more view vertical head-to-toe views compared to the previous generation model, the Ring Video Doorbell 2nd-gen. Combined with Package Alerts, this means you can not only learn that a package was dropped off but also more easily see a package left at the door.
You also get up to 23% longer battery life than the previous model, based on commonly used settings. This model employs a new push-pin mount design: push it in to securely attach it to the wall mount. When you need to remove it to recharge, release it by inserting the push-pin tool.
With HD video, colour night vision, two-way talk, motion detection, customisable motion and privacy zones with real-time alerts, live view, and Alexa compatibility, the model comes with all the features you’d expect. With a Ring Protect plan, you also get Package and Person Alerts along with the ability to store camera footage in the cloud for up to 180 days.
Connect the doorbell to a compatible Alexa-enabled device, like a smart display or TV, to see who is at the door.
The Ring Battery Video Doorbell is available for pre-order in Canada on Ring.com and Amazon.ca for $130, and will start shipping on September 4, 2024.
