Oakville-Based Sounds Good Smart Homes Receives HTA Certification

Robert May, founder and President of Sounds Good Smart Homes has announced the company has recently been awarded with Home Technology Association (HTA) certification.  The Home Technology Association exists to empower homeowners and the specification community with an independent method to evaluate the technical competence, customer service, and reputation of home technology professionals.

By providing rigorous standards, the HTA seeks to elevate the execution and enjoyment of technology and ultimately provide an objective method to match the right professional with the right project.

In order to be reviewed for HTA certification, Sounds Good had to provide the organization with three interior designers, three builders, three suppliers and three customers that Sounds Good had previously worked with. Robert May confirmed that HTA contacted all three contacts in each group.

Adding to the vetting process HTA did a deep dive on Sounds Good online and social media platforms to assess how the company presents itself online. Consumer feedback platforms such as Google Reviews, Homestars and Houzz were reviewed for public customer feedback and as a last step, HTA verified Sounds Good to have no liens or any other legal proceedings against the company.

“We then had to provide a multitude of documentation from a recent project” says May who reflects that the whole process to become certified was taken very seriously with an intensive vetting process. “I feel like the most important part was a description of our post installation support program” says May, “something that we take enormous pride in offering to all of our clients”.

While a quarter of Sounds Good projects fall in the $100,000 to $250,000 range, the company also offers Smart Home solutions for more modest budgets

Over the past 36 months, a time that included a global pandemic and incredibly challenging working and supply chain conditions, Sounds Good’s eight member team completed 108 projects broken down as follows:  $1k – $25k (30) $25k – $50k (33),  $50k – $100k (24),  $100k – $250k (21)

Sounds Good defines itself as Oakville Ontario’s only complete home technology solutions company that offers Security and Security Monitoring, Smart Home Technology, Motorized window coverings, Home Theatre and Health & Wellness technology, and the company uses no sub-trades meaning their customers only have one partner to work with for Design, Install & Support.

Sounds Good also offers outdoor technology solutions

In addition to HTA Certification, Sounds Good is also the first Canadian certified company to deploy the Delos Darwin system that places emphasis on health and wellness to the Smart Home.
