Satechi is known for its line of sleek and stylish computing accessories, many often designed specifically to complement MacBooks, Macs, and other Apple devices. At CES 2024, currently underway in Las Vegas, the company introduced several new accessories for office workers and work-from-homers.
SM1 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard
Satechi’s first mechanical keyboard designed to function with both Mac and Windows computers, the SM1 Slim is rechargeable and features a 75% layout with low-profile brown switches, four-device connectivity, 14 different backlight patterns, and a lock screen shortcut for added security with macOS. The ergonomic design consists of a slim aluminum enclosure, removable keycaps, and adjustable feet. When connected to up to four devices at a time, you can easily switch among them by pressing the FN key followed by keys 1, 2, 3, or 4. Keys 1 and 2 support Bluetooth 5.0 channels, while key 3 uses a 2.4 GHz USB receiver to wirelessly connect to an additional peripheral, and key 4 supports wired mode.
The new keyboard comes with an adjustable white backlight that supports 14 different patterns and can be easily enabled with a press of the lightbulb key located above the delete key. The low-profile brown switches combine the smoothness of red switches with the physical feedback of blue switches. There’s a shorter travel distance that reduces finger fatigue and promotes a more comfortable typing experience. They are also quieter.
The SM1 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard is height adjustable so you can angle it to help reduce strain on the wrists and hands. The adjustable feet also provide added stability, allowing the keyboard to adapt to uneven surfaces and preventing movement while typing. To ensure fast typing and quick response from the keys, the new keyboard has a shorter body and key travel distance. It also includes stabilizers located beneath the delete key, the return key, the space bar, and the left shift key to allow for a uniform key press.
The keyboard employs a rechargeable 2,500 mAh battery with a future-proof USB-C port that can be used for both charging and wired mode. Its reversible plug design facilitates easy connection and boasts a durable connector for a longer lifespan.
Along with Mac and Windows, the SM1 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard supports multiple other operating systems including iOS, iPadOS, and Google Chrome OS that can be used with a variety of USB-C devices. The keyboard even comes with Windows keys like “Win, alt, alt” that can replace the Mac “CMD” and “Opt” keys.

Qi Wireless Charging Stands
There are two new charging stands added to the line: the 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand and 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand, both of which offer simultaneous 15W of power to an iPhone, 5W of power to AirPods, and 5W of power to an Apple Watch. Both are foldable and travel-friendly and feature a premium-grade aluminum enclosure, vegan leather base, soft silicone charging puck, and sturdy, durable hinges for viewing in both portrait and landscape mode.
Using Qi technology, there’s a Qi magnetic charging puck for an iPhone and a wireless charging pad located at the base for AirPods. The 3-in-1 has an additional charging base on the back of the stand for an Apple Watch, including fast-charging capabilities with the Series 7, 8, 9, Ultra, and Ultra 2. It also has a 45W power adapter that can be used separately to charge other USB-C devices.
The new charging stands deliver twice as much power to the iPhone, providing 15W of power as opposed to the 7.5W limitation of standard Qi devices. Recharge AirPods and the Apple Watch at 5W.
Both charging stands boast powerful integrated magnets that are optimized to support MagSafe-compatible iPhones. They also support StandBy mode in iOS 17, allowing you to view important information while thee phone is charging in landscape orientation.
Small enough to tuck into a tote bag, backpack, or carry-on, the compact, the 3-in-1 Charging Stand comes with two travel adapters for the included 45W power adapter as well. Satechi’s 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand and 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand will be available Q2 2024 on for US$130 and US$80, respectively.
