Sennheiser has introduced the Momentum 4 Wireless headphones, on-ear ‘phones that boast a number of improvements over previous-generation models, including advanced Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC), smart features, and a 60-hour battery life.
The audiophile-inspired acoustic system is powered by a 42mm transducer to provide “brilliant dynamics, clarity and musicality,” says Sennheiser. Use ANC to block out distracting sounds, and activate Tranparency Mode with the touch of a button in order to hear outside sounds when desired.
The headphones work with the Sennheiser Smart Control app for customizing sound using the built-in EQ, sound modes, and a new Sound Personalization feature. The latter assesses your listening preferences and adjusts the audio accordingly.
Using the advanced 2×2 digital beamforming microphone array and automatic wind noise suppression, the headphones are also effective for voice pick-up while engaging in phone calls.
Design-wise, they boast a streamlined style that focuses on comfort thanks to the light weight, padded headband, and deep cushioned earpads. The low-friction hinge mechanism is adjustable without placing excess pressure on your head, and they can be comfortably worn around the neck when not actively listening as well, says Sennheiser. Fold them flat, meanwhile, to place into the slim case and slip into a bag or backpack.
In addition to the 60-hour battery life, the headphones also offer fast charging to offer another six hours of listening in just 10 minutes. Use Smart Pause to halt playback when the headphones are taken off and resume it when placed back on the ears. Auto On/Off rapidly powers up the headset when it’s picked up and shuts down to save energy when not in use.
Control music, voice assistants, and calls using the touchpad interface, voice and sound prompts. Set up is also simple thanks to Bluetooth device management that allows multiple devices to be connected at the same time.
“Our Momentum range has always set the standard for sophisticated listening with superior sound,” says Christian Ern, Sennheiser’s Principal Product Manager Consumer Headphones. “The new Momentum 4 Wireless once again raises the bar – delivering best-in-class sound quality with advanced Adaptive Noise Cancellation and exceptional comfort. Thanks to features including Transparency Mode, Built-in EQ, and a new Sound Personalization feature, users can listen in their own customized way.”
The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless will be available for pre-order globally on August 9, and for sale from August 23, with an MSRP of $459.95 in Canada.
