US-Based Distributor Expands To Canada

Sound Organization Expands To Canada

The Sound Organisation, the US importer and distributor for many high-end audio equipment manufacturers from the United Kingdom, has announced the hiring of three new regional sales managers to form the foundation of a new Canadian operation. “In today’s global marketplace, clear communication between businesses and consumers is essential” stated President of The Sound Organisation, Stephen Daniels. “The Sound Organisation is fortunate to have knowledgeable Canadian Hi-Fi authorities representing the distribution and service of Chord Electronics”.

Joining The Sound Organisation’s Canadian division are three well-known Hi-Fi industry veterans formerly from Plurison. All three have decades of experience with the finest audio manufacturers from the United Kingdom including Rega Research, Chord Electronics, dCS, SME, and Proac Loudspeakers.

Arthur Cuth will be serving Ontario and Manitoba. Arthur has been involved in consumer electronics sales, support, service and product design since 1996. For ten years in retail, and 14 years in distribution, he handled some of the world’s finest product lines.

John Tan will be serving British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. An audio industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, Tan is particularly knowledgeable and experienced with British audio products. John was born and raised in Canada and is fluent in both English and French. With work history at both the wholesale and retail level, John has worked with just about every hi-fi brand sold in Canada over the last 25 years.

Jonathan St. Denis will be serving Quebec and Eastern provinces, as well as Ottawa. Jonathan was born into the world of hi-fi. Having a well-respected sales representative for a father and being exposed to countless systems, he learned the art of creating component synergy in audio systems at a very early age. After his University studies in marketing and management, he joined his father’s sales agency in 2005 in Québec. Over the years, he had the chance to promote some of the finest brands in the industry.

Joining them in the role of sales coordinator is John Bevier—another former Plurison employee, who will work closely with the Canadian and U.S.Teams. Bevier joined The Sound Organisation in 2019 and has nearly 40 years of experience in the audio industry. After spending 21 years at Audio Plus Services, the last eight as National Sales Manager, and more recently with Focal Naim America as Director of Business Development,

“Expanding our team with locals who know the product and market was important to us and in line with our values as an international cooperation,” added Daniels, himself a UK-native. “We have team members from Scotland, Colorado, Vermont, and elsewhere, so it’s only right that we grow our team with the finest audio professionals across Canada!”

Initial retailer orders will be handled through The Sound Organisation’s Texas-based warehouse. Once manufacturing is fully restored from the disruption of the world-wide pandemic, Canadian orders will be fulfilled from a Montreal-based center. Future plans include a second Sound Organisation facility with warehouse space, order fulfillment, equipment repairs, retailer training and listening rooms.

At this time, The Sound Organisation will handle distribution of Chord Electronics in the Canadian market. The Sound Organisation staff will be reaching out and onboarding current Chord Electronics retailers across Canada. Those interested in selling Chord Electronics equipment are encouraged to learn more at SoundOrg.ca or contact the regional sales manager for your province.
