House of Marley, which works in collaboration with the Bob Marley family, has announced a partnership with the biopic film Bob Marley: One Love to develop a limited-edition turntable in celebration of the movie’s release today.
Bob Marley: One Love marks the first time someone has portrayed the iconic artist on the big screen. It captures his journey to overcome adversity and the evolution of his music career. The film was produced in collaboration with the Marley family and stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as the iconic musician and Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita. The movie is now officially in theaters.
The special edition Stir it Up Wireless turntables will be available in limited numbers, and include the movie title and a specific product number laser etched onto the bamboo plinth. There will only be 250 of the Bluetooth-enabled record players made available, and each will come with a certificate of authenticity.
“Audiences will witness an intimate portrayal of my father’s life, an inspiring journey of overcoming adversity and the creation of his revolutionary music,” describes Ziggy Marley, son of Bob Marley and one of the producers of the movie. “It’s a rare opportunity to gain insight into Bob Marley’s creative genius.
“House of Marley’s Limited Edition turntable echoes Bob’s principles,” he continues, “creating a haven for fans to immerse themselves in an album from start to finish. It becomes a tangible extension of Bob Marley’s journey, seamlessly complementing the cinematic exploration. Once you listen to vinyl, the quality and warmth you feel is a totally different experience.’
The limited-edition Bob Marley: One Love Stir It Up Wireless turntable is crafted with solid bamboo and environmentally conscious materials, exemplifying House of Marley’s commitment to providing a sustainable alternative in the audio industry. It incorporates elements such as REGRIND silicone, REWIND fabric, recycled plastic, and recyclable aluminum. The brand ensures these materials play a pivotal role in advancing cleaner manufacturing processes, conserving natural resources, and reducing waste within the consumer electronics market, says House of Marley.
In a significant stride toward global environmental stewardship, House of Marley initiated Project Marley in collaboration with the non-profit organization, One Tree Planted. This impactful initiative has resulted in the planting of over 400,000 trees in areas worldwide that need restoration, contributing substantially to sustainable practices and the revitalization of forests.
The limited edition Bob Marley: One Love Stir It Up Wireless turntable is available for purchase today in both Canada and the U.S. through the House of Marley Website, but only while supplies last. It sells for $350 in Canada.
