Ring Redesigns Alarm, Adds Enhanced Security Features

By Christine Persaud

Ring has announced a redesigned second-generation Alarm that includes enhanced security features, is much smaller, and easier to mount.

The Ring Alarm has an updated Keypad that enables you to request emergency services for Police, Fire, or Medical assistance with one-touch buttons directly from the Keypad. The Keypad’s redesigned one-touch Modes buttons also make it easier for customers to set their Ring Alarm to Disarmed, Home, or Away Mode, as needed.

Like its predecessor, Ring Alarm offers DIY home security without the need for professional installation, drilling, or permanent modifications to the home, making it renter friendly as well. It also integrates with other compatible Ring security devices, including Ring Doorbells and Cams, to bring whole-home connected security. For example, you can set your cameras to begin recording, or your lights to turn on, when Ring Alarm is triggered.

The next-generation Ring Alarm is available for pre-order today on Amazon.ca starting at $270 and will be available for purchase on April 29, 2020 in the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec).

Additionally, Ring has begun shipping the new Ring Video Doorbell 3, Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus, and the redesigned Chime Pro.
