Heading Back to the Office? Toronto Startup Nüu Catering Helps With Group Lunches

Through the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a work-from-home shift that marked a massive change in the nature of the workplace. Boardroom meetings became Team and Zoom meetings, travel became virtual, and lunch became whipping something up in your own kitchen. For some people, that’s changing as many companies are now ordering staff back to the office for at least a hybrid schedule. Toronto-based start-up Nüu Catering is hoping to help with the adjustment for local businesses with its group ordering and concierge-level support.

Presumably a more refined version of services like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and SkipTheDishes that caters to the downtown core, Nüu Catering is a catering platform designed exclusively for offices, making it easy for teams (real-life ones) to share meals without the hassle of traditional group ordering.

“We’re reimagining the way offices experience food, making it simpler, more inclusive, and more enjoyable for every team member,” says Fahim Ahmadi, Co-Founder of Nüu Catering. “Mealtimes should bring people together, and our platform is designed to make that happen.”

Nüu was founded by seasoned restaurant owners with decades of experience and has the dual focus of making office lunch ordering simpler to accommodate everyone while also helping restaurants grow sales during slower periods versus the busiest hours.

At the heart of Nüu’s platform is its “Order Together” feature, which solves one of the biggest frustrations of office catering: coordinating meal preferences across large teams. Instead of having one person managing the group order, each employee selects their own dish and everything arrives in a single, seamless delivery.

The company also offers concierge-level support for HR professionals, office administrators, or whoever is managing the orders.

“With the Ontario government mandating public service employees back in the office five days a week starting in 2026, we see a clear need for solutions that make the workplace more engaging,” says Ahmadi. “Shared meals are one of the simplest and most effective ways to build connection, and Nüu is here to make that process seamless for employers and enjoyable for employees.”

Nüu has already partnered with some of Toronto’s most recognizable restaurants, including Union Chicken, Ramona’s Kitchen and What-A-Bagel. For more information, visit https://www.nuucatering.com/.
